When the sun sets in this view
Between mid-August and late April the sun sets inside this frame. In December it goes down on the left, over the sea beyond the airport; around the equinoxes it sets right of centre, above the hills of western Nice.
From late April to mid-August the sun sets further to the north-west, outside the right edge of this view. On most evenings it disappears behind the distant hills and the foothills of the Alps, often hidden in haze, about 5–20 minutes before the official sunset time.
