When the sun rises in this view
From mid-April to the end of August the sun rises inside this frame, out of the sea at the mouth of the gulf, a minute or two after the official sunrise time. In June it comes up closest to the hills of Sainte-Maxime on the left.
From September to early April it rises further to the east, beyond the right edge of this view.

This photo was taken from the church tower, which visitors can climb for a fee. At street level the houses hide much of the horizon, so without the tower look for a spot by the water with an open view of the gulf.
